Cape Agulhas Classic – FAQ

Where can I find race results? On the race day, partial results will be posted in the church hall before prize giving, and we will post them on FB and our website the day after the race. What if I have a race result query? Please consult Finishing Time directly on the day, or send us an email and we can address the issue after the race day. What if I get lost en route? It is best to turn around and go back to where you saw your last sign. Alternatively, you can call the organizer, we will supply the phone number on race day. What if I get injured? Please use the MySOS app to alert the medical team right away if you are injured. We will have ambulances en route that will respond right away. We will send the MySOS details out before the race day. If I can’t attend the race, can I substitute my entry or get a refund? No, sorry you cannot.

MTB Race

72km What is the difficulty and elevation for the 72km? This distance has only 680m of climbing but is somewhat taxing on the legs due to some sandy spots. Technically a 2/5 and difficulty also 2/5. 46km What is the difficulty and elevation for the 46km? This distance has only 400m of climbing but is somewhat taxing on the legs due to some sandy spots. Technically a 2/5 and difficulty also 2/5. How much sand will I have to cycle through? Approximately 6km of waveside/beach sand as well as another roughly 2km of testing sand – rest is faily hardpacked. Remaining 38km has a solid easy rideable surface – Moderate Ride. Must I be an expert MTBer to cycle this route? No, not at all – choose distance according to fitness levels. 35km What is the difficulty and elevation for the 35km? This distance has only 280m of climbing but is somewhat taxing on the legs due to some sandy spots. Technically a 2/5 and difficulty also 2/5. How much sand will I have to cycle through? Approximately 7km of fynbos covered jeeptrack…so fair rider conditions- rest is faily hardpacked. Remaining 28km has a solid easy rideable surface – Moderate Ride. Must I be an expert MTBer to cycle this route? No, not at all – choose distance according to fitness levels. 10km Can I enter the race using a tandem bike? Yes, but both cyclists must enter the race. What is the difficulty and elevation for the 10km? This distance has only 80m of climbing but is and all on tar – Technically a 1/5 and difficulty also 1/5- Very Easy.

Trail Run

15km What is the difficulty and elevation for the 15km? This distance has only 285m of climbing but is somewhat taxing on the legs due to some sandy spots. Technically a 2/5 and difficulty also 2/5. 10km What is the difficulty and elevation for the 10km? This distance has only 218m of climbing and will will hopefully test the runner a bit. Technically a 2/5 and difficulty also 2/5. 6km Fun Run What is the difficulty and elevation for the 6km? This distance has only 95m of climbing and is easily doable for any crawling, walking and running age – Technically a 1/5 and difficulty also 1/5.
